What We Collect

When you create an account on resumes.md, we collect the information you provide directly:

  • Account information: email address, username, and display name.
  • Resume content: the resume files you upload and the parsed Markdown content we generate from them.
  • Connected accounts: when you connect LinkedIn or X, we store OAuth tokens (encrypted at rest) and import public profile data such as your headline, bio, and recent posts.
  • Usage data: basic analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the product.

How We Use Your Data

  • To generate and display your public profile at your chosen URL.
  • To sync your connected accounts and keep your profile current.
  • To process payments if you subscribe to a paid plan.
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets).
  • To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.

Public Profiles

If you set your profile to public, your display name, headline, bio, resume content, and recent activity will be visible to anyone, including AI agents and search engines. You can set your profile to private at any time from your dashboard.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. We use HTTPS for all connections and follow security best practices including Content Security Policy headers and HSTS.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: database and authentication.
  • Polar: payment processing (we never store your card details).
  • LinkedIn & X APIs: to import your public profile data when you connect your accounts.

Data Export & Deletion

You can download your complete Markdown resume at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
